Vivah (marriage) Yog

This question have been asked to a astrologer thousands of time. As a person practicing Astrology in a scientific manner, I would try to answer this question which perhaps, is both straight forward and complex too.

In a nut shell ‘Vivah Yog’ is defined as the “Time in which the possibility of getting married is highest”.

This is a general definition but please pay attention to the meanings which are hidden within this definition.

The first foremost thing that needs to be understood here is that marriage is an act of uniting two persons of opposite sex and permitting them to live together and start a family which is extremely important for this world to survive. Marriage is not simply an act of going to temple or church etc for getting united under the shlokas, mantra’s etc. This is of course a sacred practice not a binding rule (there are court marriages also).

Now again pay attention to the phrase ‘uniting two persons of opposite sex”, that I have used. Two persons can come together sexually on their own and that would also be considered as a sort of marriage as far as astrological yogas are concerned.

Again, when we look from the perspective of our society (especially the Indian culture), the permission is an important aspect here.

Now, it is important but not binding to any technically speaking. It means that technically it is not binding that two persons get married (or united sexually) after taking permission but yes from our country’s culture point of view it is considered to be essential morally speaking.

What I am trying to emphasize here is that in some way sexual relationships also amounts to a Yog hovering on the domain of marriage and that is what the logical meaning of write-ups is in
Ancient books on astrology (ages ago there were ‘Gandharv Vivah” prevailing in the times of monarchy).

However, less said on it is better.

Now, proceeding further, please understand that the meaning of ‘Yog’. In plain terms it is a synonym of ‘Possibility’.

There could be several possibilities of marriage for a native right from his birth time to his/her old age. This we find true when we apply astrological laws. But here there are two important things associated with such possibilities. These are:

1. The ‘Desh’, ‘Kaal’ ‘Paristhithi’ principle which means that for any kind of work or event (not only marriage), it is important to find the relevance of that event pertaining to the country of native (where he lives or belongs to or the religion to which he/she belongs to), the period in which he is living (this is 21st century youngsters) and the native’s condition (own + family etc).
In India there are religions where they get their girls married before they reach 20 years of age and there are some who do not even start search for grooms before a girl is fully educated stands on her own feet (age-mid twenties).

2. The 2nd factor is the relevance of the event to the prevailing age of the native. Yes, technically speaking, there can be marriage yoga’s when a child is just 10 to 12 years old. In olden period this yoga was accepted and there was child marriage.
On the other hand there could be repeat of marriage yoga to a forty plus married person and then because of social constraints or depending upon the internal personality of that person it might just fizzle out with a short-term affair outside marriage.

Now, coming directly to the words in your question, let me tell you that yoga’s generally prevail over a period of time (all kinds of yoga’s). For example if you have the yog for acquiring money from lottery then your yog for that starts the day the thought comes in your mind to buy a lottery ticket. And this yog prevails until you win it, in case you have a strong yog of getting money from outside sources. Now, if at the nick of the time you feel that speculation is bad and therefore you do not buy the lottery ticket at all then you lose that yoga.

Similarly, marriage yog for native starts when thoughts come in the mind of his/ her parents/relatives about his/her marriage. Or the same thought comes in the mind of the native himself/herself.

Now if the yog is weak is for a smaller period (astrologers can find out the length of the bhukti / antardasha in which marriage yog are strong), it might fizzle out by the time the talks gain momentum. If the yog is strong wedding bells can ring with a week of proposal.

So you may understand that the marriage yog spread over a period of time. It is somewhat similar to the yog of child birth which spreads from the conceiving time (we can never actually realize this time) to the actual birth time (we surely record this time these days).
In the end, points to be considered for vivah are seventh house, the lord of seventh house and Venus-karaka of vivah(marriage) are analyzed  for vivah purposes. The more auspicious these elements are, the more beneficial will be the results.

Tantra Shastra

Human body is like a machine (Yantra), driving power of this machine is (Mantra), knowledge about machine called Tantra (maniacal knowledge). Five elements are head for the tantra and the lord of tantra is Goddess Kali. Here, I am describing how to do bhakti of goddess Kali.

Goddess Kali

Bhagwati kalika means many images of GoddessKali. There are Many mantras,  many rituals,  many upasanas and many types of making visual effects to find strength from goddess Kali. There are numerous name of Maa Kali such as  Shyama Dakshin kalika,  Guhya Kali,  Bhadrakali Mahakali etc. In the area of Das Mahavidyas Bhagwati Dakshin Kali is head of Tantra Sadhana.

Mantra of Goddess Kali

There are many mantras you may use to invoke Bhagwati Dakshin Kalika. Following are some for making quick effects in sadhana.
Kram  It is beeja mantra of Kali. By chanting this mantra one can overcome enmity of world  by the strength of this beeja manatra.
Kreem   KRIM (pronounced Kreem) is the great mantra of Kali, the Goddess of energy and transformation. KRIM grants all spiritual faculties and powers. It helps awaken and purify the subtle body. As a mantra of work and transformation KRIM is the mantra of Kriya Yoga, the Yoga of practice. It is the main mantra of the Yoga Shakti. As it is a strong mantra it should be used with care.
Kraum   This mantra is for to destroy  souls in sky  those provoke negatives  thoughts which always gives negative results in the area of achievements.
  • Aum Hram Hreem Hroom Hroom Kreem Kreem Kreem Dakshin Kalike Kreem Kreem Hoom Hoom Hreem Hreem. This mantra always gives strength when sudden bad activities started in life, like in illness and no helps from doctors no helps by medicines.
  • Namah Aim Kreem Kreem kaalikaaye Swaha. this mantra has full of strength to give more money fame and always act like a true friend. It also makes good results when 31 times chant with the name of wanted friend.

Under Standing Tantric Mantras
Vedic mantras are Tantric mantras, and are very complex.
Western scholars have hence failed to understand tantric ‘bija (seed) mantras’ used to invoke deities and their origins – which lie within the Sanskrit alphabet itself.
Here are some examples of how such great mantras are formed, from Vedic sounds:
Au is Sadashiva - the great form of Shiva as Parameshvara or the Supreme Brahman (Supreme Consciousness). It refers to sound and calling or invoking.
Da is Durga. It means a weapon, and refers to the Danda (staff).
Ga is Ganesha or Ganapati. It means a song, and hence implies sound, since Ganapati is lord of the word (Brihaspati), which are Vedic mantras or hymns (he is Brahmanaspati and Narashamsa).
Ha is Shiva. It means ‘to destroy’ and refers to the destructive power of Shiva in his terrible form as Rudra or Bhairava, and hence as Fire (Agni), which has power to destroy.
I (ee) is Mahamaya, the great illusion form of the Goddess. It refers to emotions, such as pain and anger, and thus represents the power of suffering in Maya. It also means the god of lust and thus implies illusion due to lust and ego.
Ka is Kamadeva (God of Love) and Goddess Kali. It means air, time and sound.
La is Indra, the Vedic wielder of the Vajra (thunderbolt). It means ‘to cut’ and refers to the vajra destroying or cutting heads of (i.e. removing ego or mind). It also stands for tejas (light and heat – properties of lightening).
M. is the Universal Mother and represents sound (nada) – the primal sound of creation.
Ra is Brahma, the creator. It means to rule or govern.
U is Bhairava, the firey form of Shiva. It means ‘to protect’ and also the moon, which are forms of Shiva. Bhairava is also the militant form of Shiva that destroys the demons and thus protects us.
These are few examples, and thus we can see how the mantras work.
Hence, the mantra ‘Hum’ is therefore the ‘sound (m.) that destroys (ha) and protects (u)”. It is hence the kavacha-mantra or armour mantra in Tantra.
Hlrim is the mantra of Goddess Bagalamukhi. It is hence the ‘sound (m.) that destroys (ha) and cuts (la) the creative force (ra) which is illusion (i)’. It creates stillness and silence by destroying the creator and illusion, leaving us to dwell on the inn-most self (beyond ego and illusion).
Likewise, Krim, the mantra of Goddess Kali is the ‘ruling (ra) sound (m.) of space and time (ka) of the great illusion (i)’. It is thus the ruling mantra for subtle sound in the cosmos that breaks illusion – which is the sound of thunder and power of lightening.
Bija mantras were known and used in Vedic times, as parts of the more esoteric sides of worship and sadhana.

LIVING YOUR LIFE SENSIBLY WITH JYOTISH HELP (PLANETARY INFLUENCE)

As with everything in Vedic Astrology, we have to deal with the two fundamentals: the karma and destiny shown by the birth chart, and the activation of that karma shown by the predictive techniques, primarily the dasha (planetary period) system, and transits. As in my previous blog I mentioned that planets indicate the results of our past action and also our future, therefore, transits records the effects of the changes in the positions and movements of the planets on individual lives for any desired time.
I’ll be regularly giving planetary influence on individual lives (good or bad depending its position in the chart) under my article
“LIVING YOUR LIFE SENSIBLY WITH JYOTISH HELP “

Planetary influence MAY 2012

Mars Moves Forward Through Leo May 1 - May 31

Mars spends his last full month in the Sun's sign of Leo during May, moving in forward motion through the middle degrees of Leo. Mars continues to receive the positive aspect of Jupiter until May 17, when Jupiter progresses into Taurus.
Further energizing Mars through mid-month is the Sun occupying Aries, Mars' fire sign. This condition of exchanging signs is beneficial for both the Sun and Mars and will promote energetic actions through mid-May. This Sun-Mars connection can generate a great deal of energy and action, but be aware that both planets are very self-centered in nature. This could cause an unconscious disregard for the well-being, space and interests of others, so be careful about where you point that fire hose.

Full Moon in Libra May 5

The full Moon in Libra on May 5 is both a celebration of the Sun-Mars conjunction and a prelude to the energetic shift we may feel as May progresses. The strong Mars energy will wane as the power of Venus prepares to blossom. The evening of Saturday, May 5 will reveal the Moon at the apex of the cycle begun in Aries on April 21. The Sun will share the sign of Aries with Jupiter (and Mercury, transiting to Aries the same day) and the Moon will share Venus' air sign, Libra, with retrograde but exalted Saturn.
A sense of transition is evoked by Mercury and Saturn during this full Moon. Mercury will be at 0° Aries while Saturn will be exactly opposite at 0° Libra, moving in retrograde motion toward Mercury's sign of Virgo. When planets are at the transition between signs, we call this condition sandhi. This can create uncertain results for the actions of those planets.

Mercury Transits Aries May 5 - May 22

Mercury's reputation for flexibility and variability is something we can see literally in the transits of Mercury through the signs. What we can expect during the two weeks that Mercury dashes through Aries is perhaps a quickening. An urge to move and transition from one thing to another. Mercury will, in fact, usher both Jupiter and the Sun out of Aries and into Taurus, following them about a week later. This could be a great period for work involving logic, planning, networking, communication, information technology and design. Though Mercury and Mars aren't technically friendly with one another, they both offer skills that are beneficial for these types of projects. Mars helps Mercury focus and Mercury helps Mars see and think beyond the self.

Sun Enters Taurus May 14

The Sun exits his sign of exaltation, Aries, and enters Venus' earth sign, Taurus, on Monday, May 14. Here begins an interesting transition into a new set of astrological influences. The Sun joins Venus and Ketu in Taurus, and the three will be joined by Jupiter and Mercury as the days of May unfold.
The Sun moves toward a solar eclipse which occurs on May 20. Ketu is considered to be inimical to the Sun, as it has the ability to swallow the power of the Sun.
Venus, a benefic planet and lord of Taurus, is with the Sun during the Sun's entire Taurus transit this year. The two will be joined by another benefic planet, Jupiter. The Sun is well supported as he proceeds toward his meeting with Ketu, especially considering Mars' mature transit through Leo, the Sun's sign. This gives the Sun strength through the changes to come.

Venus Retrograde in Taurus May 15 - June 27

As Venus begins her retrograde cycle on May 15, as with all other retrograde planets, its a good time for review, retreat and reassessment of the fields of life represented by the planet, especially as relates to an individual's birth chart.
Venus rules love, beauty and connection between beings. Through Venus we learn how to regard and cherish the other as a part of ourselves, whether it be another human, animal friend or the earth itself. Through Venus we learn how to express the love that grows through these connections through creative and social pursuits. Through Venus we learn how to make our lives more beautiful and savory.

Saturn Retrogrades into Virgo May 15

Saturn is in the middle of a retrograde cycle that began February 7 in Saturn's sign of exaltation, Libra. Saturn has traversed backward through the early degrees of Libra and dips back into Virgo on May 15. Saturn will resume direct motion on June 25 and proceed forward again through the last two degrees of Virgo, re-emerging in Libra on August 3.
With Saturn and Venus both retrograde in earth signs, we may really be forced into confronting things in the material realm during the six weeks between mid-May and end of June. We may feel a sense of slow progress or back-stepping as far as health and resources go. While this may be disheartening, try to dig deep and truly regard what may feel like loss. Sometimes when we cling to that which doesn't truly serve us any longer, painful situations arise.
This retrograde motion of Saturn encourages us to create boundaries and foundations that support sustainable growth. We may see things slow way down in order to give us the chance to truly review what is contributing to healthy balance and what is disabling us from moving with grace and freedom.

Jupiter Enters Taurus May 17

The planetary excitement that we will experience in May keeps growing. Jupiter moves from Aries to Taurus on May 17, joining the Sun, Venus and Ketu. Jupiter moves through each sign in about one year, so his transits of signs can be significant for individuals as Jupiter brings positivity and expansion to the areas of life that he influences.
Jupiter's expansive nature, while positive, can sometimes over speculate and get too big too fast. This is an interesting start to a year-long transit that may see more rapid growth toward the end than at the beginning.

New Moon in Taurus - Solar Eclipse May 20

As the planets stream into Taurus during May, the Moon quietly wanes after the apex of the cycle on May 5. Aside from a brief encounter with Rahu, the north node of the Moon on May 7, the Moon is on her own until she catches up again with Mercury in the late degrees of Aries on May 19. This could create some lonely Moon feelings for the couple of weeks between May 6 – 20.
The Moon represents the mind, specifically the part of the mind with which we sense, receive and feel. (Mercury is in charge of the intellectual and analytical part of the mind.) The Moon receives and transmits the light of the Sun and generally indicates our level of mental stability, happiness and capacity to nurture life.
Eclipses are traditionally viewed by astrology as sensitive times that can cause situations of instability. Ketu is known as the “dragon's tail” and is especially dangerous to the Sun. The action of Ketu is the internalization of energy, and it is a planet associated with intense spiritual practice and self-inquiry.
Amavasya, the day of the new Moon actually starts during the afternoon of Saturday May 19 and ends in the late afternoon of Sunday, May 20, when the actual conjunction of Sun and Moon occurs. This is the time period to stay put and not plan too much. You will be free to wax and grow with the Moon starting on Monday, May 21.

Mercury Transits Taurus May 22 - June 3

Mercury, after seeing the other planets safely into Taurus, jumps in himself and races past Jupiter (May 22), Ketu (May 26), Sun (May 27) and Venus (June 1), exiting stage left to his own sign of Gemini on June 3. Mercury, which represents communication and exchange, is flexible, quick and easily influenced by others. His rapid move past four planets almost makes us believe that he really needs some time to express himself uninfluenced by others.
The rapid speed of Mercury may cause some feelings of conflict due to the retrograde motion of his friends, Venus and Saturn. Watch out for feelings of impatience and impulsiveness that may run counter to the plans that Saturn has in store, for he is retrograding through Mercury's earth sign. Just because we think we want things to happen faster doesn't mean that speed is the best course of action.
